I HAD LIKE THE BIGGEST SOUL EATER PHASE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER!! :D this is like incredibly exciting, just because i love this piece of media a lot! :)

first impression: OKAY, so i heard a lot about him, due to my friend in middle school liking him a lot, so my first impression was that he was like very silly, but in a good way. like he takes things too seriously, and it usually ends up becoming comic relief material

impression now: HES THE!! HES THE GUY!! i love him, he is in fact silly. i think that despite his nature of taking things very seriously, he does know when to just have fun. i think he puts a lot of pressure on himself due to his father. i really enjoyed his character development, and all of his moments :)

favorite moment: the whole excalibur episode was so funny from what i recall. like i forced my father to watch it with me LMAO. also the scene where he passes out in the blackstar and soul fight, because they accidentally gave him a haircut

idea for a story: hmm idk :0 make him go to therapy for his clear ocd 🦧

unpopular opinion: i’m not sure i have one, so i’ll just state a pretty standard opinion, and it’s that i really wish they kept it closer to the manga. because they really skip a lot of his, and especially blackstar’s character development :(

favorite relationship: very basic, but i love his friendship with patty and liz :) his friendships with blackstar, and maka are also really great :D

favorite headcanon: this is so random, but when i was a child my sister, and i had a joke that he really liked shampoo?? it has stuck with me for years

i haven’t watched fmab in years, and admittedly watched like the last 20 episodes with the flu, so my memory is indeed rough, but i also REALLY loved this show. i stand by it being really really good!!! :D

first impression: i was really neutral about him! like there were WAYYY worse homunculi in the series lol!

impression now: he puts on such a big act, but like he grows so much, he’s a softie at his core :(

I LOVE THE FOLK OF THE AIR SERIES, LIKE ITS SO MUCH FUN AHHH!! i remember being really skeptical about it, but then i binge read the whole series in like three days, lol!!! i was just talking about it with a friend last night! :)

first impression: HES MEAN, this is unsurprising seeing the title of said book. BUT, his opening segment is so mean, like he just ripped off someone’s wings?? like he’s never that mean for the rest of the series, it’s so uncalled for LMAOO 😭

impression now: I LOVE HIM, he’s a cat that fell into a pool, he’s pathetic, he’s so unserious, i would say he tries his best, but he really doesn’t. and i love that for him

I write for specific characters played by Evan Peters. (Peter Maximoff from "X-men", Tate Langdon, Jimmy Darling, Kyle Spencer, Kit Walker, and JPM from "American Horror Story". )

I'm going to be completely honest, I have no clue what that is 😭. Is it an AO3 thing???

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes!!! They make me feel so confident and happy. The fact that someone likes my fic enough to comment and tell me how great I did just makes my day. Commenters are the best and deserve the world 🫶.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I would either put it between "Anything, For You" orrrr "His Sanction". But honestly, both have a relatively nice ending that isn't too sad because it's hinted that there will be a resolve. I definitely need to churn out some more angsty stuff because I love writing it, but sometimes I feel like people don't like it as much, so I've avoided it.

7. What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

All of my fics have a pretty happy ending, but my personal favorite one is in "Apologies and Tire-Swings" it's got a childhood best friends to lovers arc, which I'm an absolute sucker for. This one didn't really get as much attention as my others, which made me so upset 😭. But I'm really proud of it regardless!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Luckily, I have not yet. (Hopefully, this post doesn't change that lmaooo.) This community seems pretty peaceful compared to others I've seen. ❤️❤️❤️

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kinds?

I do, but I'm not super experienced at it and only have like... 3 times??? I get kinda self conscious about how I do it because I'm not very confident about it yet. So most of the time, it's all pretty tame and isn't drawn out for longer than it has to. (Mutuals, I'd love for any words of advice or guidance!)

10. Do you write crossovers?

I have not, and I don't think I plan to. Considering that all of the characters are played by the same actor, I feel like it would be a little goofy to imagine lmao.

Nope!!! Not that I'm aware of.

I have not, but would LOVE if I could!

I have a Peter Maximoff fic I started months ago that's been marinating in my drafts, and I just can't come up with any ideas to continue it ugh.

I think I'm really good at coming up with original concepts for my fics and are more than just a basic prompt. I'm proud of some of my ideas. One of my favorite fics, which is an example of this, is "The Sock Rule."

Definitely smut. Like I said before, I'm not very confident with it at all and assume it's always bad.

18. Thoughts on writing diologue in another language in a fic?

I would love to, but only if I know it's correct because I don't want to butcher it and just use Google Translate.

Ewwww, nooo. I don't like to talk about it, but like almost ten years ago when I was 12, I was really into the Undertale fandom. So I'd write fanfiction that to this day haunts me. It was so bad, and people online had convinced me that I was the shit so I didn't stop for a WHILE 😭.

Some rules:

I may or may not write smut? I'm not sure since I haven't really done it, but I will NOT write smut for characters under the age of 21

I won't write anything that has to do with the reader being super OP or being half of like, literally everything

When it comes to Y/N being an anthropomorphic animal/human or half of that, if stuff like that is canon in the fandom, then I'll write it (like a half human half monster for Undertale, or a Cat person for TMNT) but if stuff like that just doesn't exist in that world, then I most likely won't write it

I won't write a character being a racist, rapist, homophobic, transphobic or anything like that, those things are fucked up and aren't ok and that character I may write, might be someone else's comfort character and I don't want to ruin a character for someone

I won't write a character as being an abuser, sure, I could say they where abused some way in the past if it is relevant to the fic, but I will not write a character being an abuser themselves, that's just not right

I won't write yandere characters, it just feels to toxic to me to have someone be THAT possessive of someone

If a character is canonically underage, I will not age them up, if a reader or character is being romantically shipped with the underage character, the reader/character must and will be underage as well

(Keep in mind I might add rules or change certain rules)

SCDI Trivia #4: Liz & Cat!

((The concept of Liz and Cat were based on a trend I was seeing at the time in games of female cat and crocodile characters being friends. But admittedly they were initially very based off Bratty & Catty from Undertale. Very energetic and sometimes talking over each other.

It was actually really difficult to write Liz & Cat's dialogue because they would often talk over each other at the same time and sometimes break their words off to add on to what the other was saying, basically... THEY WERE ALWAYS TALKING LOL and it was hard to convey all that through word bubble dialogue in the comic haha

Liz & Cat were also originally planned to be one off incidental characters. After Summer bumps into them, they would have a brief exchange before parting their separate ways from Summer and then fade off into occasional background characters. The initial idea for their first interaction wasn't nearly as wholesome haha though ^^;

The outcome of their interaction was originally dependent on what outfit Summer would be wearing from the poll. Had the poll decided for Summer to wear the "Cute" outfit, the scene would play out as it did, Liz finding Summer's outfit to be Mega Cute and immediately bond over how they're matching and stuff. As it would've been slightly identical to their initial designs:

Any other choice would've actually resulted in Cat telling Summer off to watch where she was going while Liz holds her face in pain as they depart from the scene. They wouldn't have even helped her up haha xD

But as you may have noticed, the "Casual" look is what won the poll, not the "Cute" outfit... so what gives? Well, to be honest, I didn't want to write Liz & Cat's first impressions as bullies that thought they were better than everyone haha, so I tweaked the script in favor of the positive outcome, and also modified Liz & Cat's outfits to better match Summer's haha))

A Date

Week 1- Day 1

So, everyday I’m doing a writing prompt this month based off Undertale, except for yesterday because that’s when I began putting the list together. Anyway, here is day one of week one, I’ll post the full prompt list later or something.

AU: Underfell Academy Prompt: In a world where homosexual relationships are illegal, Sans ends up helping out Alphys and Undyne by pretending to be in a relationship with Alphys.

*Edit: Welp. Two fics I forgot a swear warning for. Whoops.

Sans strutted along, hood up, keeping an eye out around them as they made their way across the wet field together. He was doing his best to put on a tough-guy face to hide the fact he was scared shitless at the thought of getting caught (disregarding the lack of bowels to begin with).

Alphys walked beside him, hunched over and glancing around, anxious. Sans wasn’t the toughest monster in the school, and while she of all people knew what a fraction of his power was it didn’t matter if no one knew to fear him. The only reason she was here with him was because of the rumors. “Sans, sto-stop being an idiot!” she quietly demanded of him. “Stop strutting about like you own the place! We should be-”

“Taking a shortcut?” Sans interrupted. “Is that what ya want? Or is it what he wants?”

Alphys confusedly stared at him for a moment, before realization dawned on their face. “Sans, you know I would never-”

“Sell out me or my bro to Gaster?” He shook his head, his usual infuriating pompous grin growing. “Tsk tsk tsk Alphys, I’m doin’ you a favour here. So fucking appreciate it. We do it my way, and I ain’t shortcuttin’ so you can go on your figgin date, capiche?”

She glared at him, but knew she was in no position to refuse. He was honestly putting a lot on the line right here, and as difficult as he was going to make it she should still try to be appreciative.

Ultimately she decided to shut up for now, which Sans appreciated. Some monsters said the world would be better if all women shut up. Sans thought the world would be better if everyone shut up.

If the world shut up, he wouldn’t even have to be here right now.

They kept walking across the school field, until they reached the wall around the school. Sans began leading Alphys along the side of it, trying to find his old spot. Finally, he recognized it, but where there used to be a hole was now a brand new section of spiked bars.

“Ugh, well fuck…” As Sans raised his hand to his chin, Alphys tried to figure out what was wrong.

After a moment of just standing there, Alphys impatiently whispered “S-Sans, we’re going to get caught, what are you doing?”

Sans looked up, saying “The wall’s been patched, we’re gonna need another way out.”

As Sans kept thinking about solutions, Alphys grew more and more impatient. “Sans! Just use a goddamned shortcut!”

Sans gave them a dead expression, tired of her garbage.

Suddenly, Alphys felt as though her weight had doubled, before suddenly flying up as bones shot from the wall to catch them from flying off. Before she could get her bearings, she was launched yet again, this time into a tree on the other side of the wall.

Sans stopped using his blue magic on her, before retracting the bones he had summoned to catch her and summoning two more underneath himself, two directly under his own feet causing his to be shot up into the air.

Alphys looked up from her dress (now filthy and slightly tattered) to see Sans spinning in the air before landing right on the other side of the wall in front of them, landing perfectly on two feet and a dramatic pose stolen straight from his brother.

Before Alphys could come up with a way to respond to what Sans just did to her, he said “There, no shortcuts necessary. Now come on, you’ve got a date to not shortcut to.” He began walking along cheerily, back towards the front of the school.

Alphys quickly stumbled along behind him, trying her best to fix the dress she had on. She was fuming, but figured out what would happen if they angered Sans further. Besides, if she were going to go on this date, people needed to think it was a date with Sans.

Still, she wondered why or how she let Frisk convince them to do this.  Frisk knew very well how the law and school felt about this sort of stuff, and leaving school like this in it of itself was against the rules, essentially law given the government backing for the academy.

Still, it wasn’t Frisk who chose to take this risk, to go on a date between two women. And among the fear and anxiety they felt both over getting caught and over the date itself, they were ecstatic and grateful. Grateful Frisk convinced them to do this, that Undyne said yes instead of reporting them, for Sans willing to go and pretend to be her mate to get the school off her back, and ecstatic that they were going on a date- an actual freakin’ date- with Undyne right now.

Sans let out a chuckle as he glanced back, before Alphys realized their scales were glowing red as the blush underneath reflected throughout their body. Sans asked “Thinkin’ ‘bout somethin’ fun Alph?”

They stared at him for a moment, before stuttering and stammering they eventually they just let out a high pitched “SHUT UP!”

Sans broke out into laughter, continuing to walk along and lead the way to the nearby village. After a minute, he said “Sorry Alph, I didn’t mean to get under your scales.”

Alphys sighed, grumbling as the rain helped to cool them off.

Sans continued. “What were ya thinkin’ ‘bout anyway that was makin’ ya so liz-hard? Did you have some fishy ideas in that head of yours? Are you hopin’ that after your date you and them may…” He summoned a bone, hovering in the palm of his hand. “... bone each other?”

Alphys did their best to ignore him, glowing red regardless.

Sans finally let off, and they made their way into town. Sans was wearing a hooded jacket, and with Alphys in a dress town guards probably wouldn’t expect them to be students leaving the school at night.

Finally, they made their way to the old hotel where they’d agreed to meet with Undyne. They walked right past the front desk, and ignored the few private guards around the place who all assumed they were a couple who signed in earlier today, as they made their quickly and innocuously to the elevator.

They went up for a minute, finally stopping on their floor. After walking down the hall a moment, Sans knocked on the door for Alphys.

A minute later, the door opened, Undyne standing there with a spear in hand as they looked to make sure nobody else was outside the door.

As Undyne kept looking around suspiciously, Sans said “Hey, we made it.  Unfollowed too.”

Alphys’s eyes widened, how did she not even consider they were being followed?! At least Sans had done so, apparently.

Not trusting Sans’s word, Undyne kept looking around for a moment, giving a shy smile as they made eye contact with Alphys. Finally, they said “Fine, I believe you. How was the walk?”

Sans shrugged. “Eh, it was-”

“NOT YOU!” Undyne shouted at him. She looked over to Alphys.

After a moment of mild blushing, they said “I- Uhh- It- It was- It was alright, Undyne! Uhh, rather wet.”

Sans let out a minor chuckle, wagging his non existent eyebrows at both of them as they each proceeded to blush.

Getting fed up with Sans, Undyne said “Uhh- Come on in nerd!”

Alphys walked past Sans, and into the room. As Sans began to come in as well, Undyne blocked the door and said “NUH HUH! Not you skeleton!

Sans glared at them. “Hey, I helped cover for Alph, at least let me raid the liquor, the casino’s expensive as all hell.”

Undyne was confused. “Casino? No no, you’re waiting right here for this date to be over, alright!?”

Sans shook his head. “Naaahhh… I got plans fish, Chara’s escaped and in disguise, I’m meetin’ them at the casino, they finally got their fake ID from the dealer Temmie and we’re havin’ fun. Fine though, liquor’s yours, call me when Alph’s leavin’.” Sans began to talk off, as Undyne held back the strong urge to yell at him to get his ass back here.

She had a date to get to though, and should be focusing on that.

She walked back inside, closing and locking the door so nobody would get in. They walked into the room, where food had been delivered and a stack of anime was next to the TV. And, of course, Alphys, sitting right there, waiting for Undyne.

As big an ass Sans was, both of them owed him for making this possible.

i have not been able to stop thinking about this so i’m exorcising it from my consciousness

Yeah, plus cultural differences exist as well; some European countries have cheek or even lip-kisses as common greetings between friends or family members. And it depends on the family unit itself, as well as the individuals within it.

My family’s ethnically Polish, but all of us 4 kids were born and raised in USA. Both of my brothers happen to not be touchy-feely at all, with anyone period, same as my Mom used to be (very hands-off). Meanwhile, me and my sister love physical contact in general, taking after our Dad, who freely gave out hugs and kisses to family and friends alike of any gender if they approved.

As adults now… Sis now lives on her own far away, so we hug hello and goodbye at visits, as well as leaning on each other or propping an ankle over the other’s leg while watching tv, etc. Just casual contact to make up for lost time.

She (a couple years younger than me) was a rough kid; she has Williams Syndrome, so she had a hard time learning about others’ feelings. She would often steal mine and our brothers’ things, deface or break or lose them. She’d throw fits if she didn’t get her way, chase us down and bite us if she was mad, etc. I did my best to explain things in ways she could understand though, wanting her to have an easier time at school as well as at home. Slowly, she climbed that mountain, and I grew so proud of her and told her so often.

As a result, we bonded closer over time, even though our interests differed quite a bit. She liked pink girly stuff for the most part, along with a hyperfixation on EDM music and technology. I tended to more often play with my brothers (one about a year older, the other about 5 years younger than me) because I liked superheroes and Transformers and toy soldiers.

But we did all pretend to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since there were four of us. The oldest bro was pretty bossy simply because age is often seen as a status marker, so he chose to be Leonardo, the leader (this is the original animated series from the early 90s). I then got second pick and was Raphael cuz I liked his sarcasm. Sis fit well as Donatello because she loved (and still loves) tech. We used a bit of manipulative framing to soften the fact that our youngest brother was stuck with Michelangelo even though he wanted to be Leonardo or Raphael. Got him to grudgingly agree so the playing could commence. He now says he really hated that he was relegated to that role, but well, that’s sibling negotiation and compromise for ya sometimes.

The bros didn’t get along well with Liz due to her temper, and their lack of patience (older bro is just stubborn and never patient… younger bro has ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, and may be bipolar, so he had his own things to deal with without having to tiptoe around her. So they still aren’t very close nowadays, even though she’s improved so vastly. Just a combination of the past hardships and the long distance thus not seeing how awesome she’s become… yeah, they’re just pretty much estranged now, but none of them really lament it. It seems fine really.

My brothers will roll their eyes and humor Mom’s hugs sometimes, but otherwise just don’t want touched, so we respect their boundaries. My older bro has his own interests n stuff, and is pretty emotionally distant from me n sis cuz he grew into that kinda toxic-masculine mindset that he can’t relate to women on the same level but likes getting girlfriends. Meh.

But my younger brother spends a lot of time with me, usually playing video games, but we’ll discuss all kinds of things. Brainstorming creative ideas, me punning and him groaning and pretending to hate it even though he smiles (reminds me of Sans and Papyrus in the video game “Undertale”, really, which I HIGHLY recommend as another great sibling relationship illustration)… We talk about personal struggles, politics and society, our evolving life philosophies, sharing stories we’ve discovered, suggesting and listening to music together, etc. I’d say that even though we’re not physically close, we’re emotionally close, trusting each other with just about everything.

Our family’s become more about being open and honest with our feelings, so we can all understand each other better and thus keep getting along better and better. Including personal boundaries to respect, working out our differences, etc. We’ve had emotional shouting matches in the past, hard times explaining what we meant to say, etc. But we’re learning and improving.

And we’ve got rituals out the wazoo but I’m too tired to write about them right now. Just lots of silly little things we do to lighten the mood and make each other laugh, while exercising our familiarity with one another.

Anywaaaay, just wanted to give even more personal examples to add that variety can exist based on the individuals involved. And to again recommend “Undertale” for the skelebros! Those do a lot of teasing and nagging, but it’s all clearly light-hearted and with good intent. They’ve got a ritual with a dirty sock and bedtime stories. Feels super real to me. :3

How do you recommend writing a brother relationship. It’s pretty crucial to my story. The older one is serious, and strict while his brother is dreamy and gentle

A lot of people struggle when it comes to writing siblings.They make their relationship too stilted and forced, to the point where they’realmost glorified acquaintances.

A sibling relationship isn’t just about quipsand annoying each other, though those things may be a big part of it, so if youwant to write a believable pair of siblings(with a good relationship with oneanother), here are some tips.

1. They Don’t Love Each Other THAT Much

Unless you’re writing about something that’s very not good, siblingsshouldn’t be too touchy-feely. When they’re older and aren’t living in the samehouse, siblings kiss each other on the cheek hello and goodbye, but teenagedsiblings rarely do that, if at all.

An older sibling may kiss a much younger sibling on thecheek, and there may be a lot of hugging involved, but in my experience,siblings who are close in age only kiss on the cheek if they’re older and don’tsee each other often. If you’ve had a sibling, you know that they DO NOT kisseach other on the lips. That’s just weird. (Yuck!)

2. They Have to Do Sibling Stuff Together

A good sibling relationship isn’t cultivated by ignoringeach other, though many siblings spend a lot of time doing just that. Even ifthey are annoyed by each other, they can’t just…not interact for the wholestory.

Sibling affection can be conveyed through various acts thatmay seem weird but to siblings are perfectly normal.

 Jumping on each other/playful fighting

Real Fighting over weird things (My personal favoriteargument that I’ve had with my brother is which Smash Ultimate character is thethiccest)

Scaring each other

Playing video games together

Playing pranks on each other

Inside jokes

Weird rituals (Whenever we encounter each otheron opposite sides of a hallway, my brother and I just strike the do it to em’pose until one of us yields and thus proves their inferiority)

Staring contests

Violent footsie under the table

Spilling tea about bfs/gfs/friends/school drama

Watching Netflix together

Listening to music together

Simply sitting in the same room and enjoying eachother’s presence

Nicknames (Ever since I read A Gentleman’s Guideto Vice and Virtue I’ve referred to my brother exclusively as Goblin)

Contests/rivalry (who can run the fastest, whocan climb the highest, who can fit the most marshmallows into their mouthwithout choking, etc. Usually prefaced with “race ya” or the anxiety-inducing “readyset go”)

3. They Have to Be Supportive

Siblings stick up for each other. They comfort each other.Sometimes, when they’re feeling petty, they snitch on or berate each other ruthlessly.

They might get mad for a while and ignore each other, but eventually it’ll allbe okay because it’s really hard to stay mad at a fellow quasi-human who livesin the same house as you.

If a sibling is getting bullied at school, the vengeance inthe others will burn white hot for a person they haven’t even met; they mightlove embarrassing the sibling, but they’re the only one who’s allowed to bullythem. No one else. “Penalty for bullying a sibling is death.”

Ethan is one of those people that everyone just understands as “goofy”. He’s a good kid, but he’s a total clown. Ethan is a natural-born leader, and he uses his outgoing-ness and sense of responsibility to help boost himself to the top, though it is almost always for the benefit of other’s other than himself.

This guys eats CONSTANTLY. He’s still young and growing, and he is aware that one day his metabolism won’t be the same, but for the time being, he wants to enjoy whatever he likes.

In high school, Ethan is active in student council, choir, theater, and orchestra (viola). It sometimes gets a mess, but he believes everything has a reason, and he is all for it.
